Charne Rochford Charne trained at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was the recipient of the MBF Sybil Tutton Award. In 2002 he made his Royal Opera House debut in Graham Vick’s production of Die Meistersinger as an Apprentice. He covered Pinkerton Madame Butterfly and later portrayed Tamino Die Zauberflöte for Clonter Opera.
Operatic engagements include Armed Man/ Priest The Magic Flute Glyndebourne Touring Opera, GFO, English Touring Opera, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Opera North; Don Jose Carmen Mananan Festival, Isle of Man; Pablo Betrothal in a Monastery GTO; Don Jose (cover) Carmen GTO; Prince Love for Three Oranges English Pocket Opera Company; MacDuff Macbeth Warwick Arts; Rodolfo La Boheme Dartington; Lensky Eugene Onegin St. John’s Smith Square. On the concert platform he has performed Britten’s St. Nicolas, Mendelssohn’s Elijah and St. Paul in Cyprus.
Charne has also made his cinematic debut as Priest/Officer in the film version of The Magic Flute directed by Kenneth Branagh and conducted by James Conlon, premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
